Hailing from the Tar Heel State (North Carolina), Blake attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he majored in romance languages and environmental studies. His work with foreign languages and interest in other cultures led him to accept a teaching position within the Spanish Ministry of Education upon graduating from UNC. While living and working abroad, Blake has traveled to over 20 countries across four continents – photographing and documenting as much as possible along the way.
